We got to meet the Duggar family!

We had the opportunity to meet the Duggar family from TLC's show 19 Kids & Counting. It was pretty cool! Michelle & Jim Bob spoke and the children play music and sang for us. It was such a blessing. This family is exactly the same as they are on TV. Michelle was so sweet to talk with. Our son had a fun time meeting his favorite Duggar, Josiah. They looked very similar at younger ages.
We were very blessed with this experience and I came away refreshed as a Christian, wife and mother of an only child.

There were only 2 Duggars missing, Josh and John David (the one with the tow truck business?).

rice casserole with bacon and spinach

This recipe looks so yummy!  rice casserole with bacon and spinach I plan on making it this week. I think I can make it corn free if I make my own broth.

Hope you have a wonderful week! We have a busy week coming, we are having a homeschool gathering to watch the Michelle Duggar DVD "Tea with Michelle Duggar" and then doctor and dentist appointments galor, husbands birthday and final school work to be done. With lots of nice spring weather on hand I'm thinking we will have some outdoor time too.

Still working on cleaning out the pantry, baked a turkey from the freezer (did you know that Butterball Turkeys all contain a solution made with corn that is injected into the turkey?  GGRR), used up some canned artichoke (ds made those last night sauteed with garlic and olive oil) I of course did not eat them since the can of artichoke hearts contains 'corn'.

We just can't get away from corn in this country, wonder if that is another reason why we have so many health issues in this country.

Thanks Kiara for the post about allergies.

AWESOME link for you & a blessing I got.

AWESOME link!! Click here to head on over to "Denverbargins.com" she has a great article on pantry challenges. Sounds like she is really trying to tighten her belt, but a few of the suggestions would pertain to a great many of us right here and now.

Now for my blessing, as many of you know I love visionforum.com and we buy a lot from that site. I bought the DVD Tea with Michelle Duggar, I know, I know, some of you don't care for the show, so please have a great day & skip this post  :O)

I was so blessed by the DVD and plan to have my family watch it with me.
As an adoptive mom (I've had 4 miscarriages) to an only child, I so enjoy the Duggar's take on parenting and children. She has never made me feel less of a mom for not being able to "be fruitful and multiply", she has shown me the blessings of having even just one child. I really got a lot of out the video on how to train my child in the ways of the Lord, simple, easy ways. WOW!!  I also laughed when she spoke of the piles of laundry and 2 hours of washing dishes (things that can't be put in the dishwasher) and how to get your kids to work together. You will be blessed beyond measure from this DVD. Here is a link for more info Tea with Michelle Duggar. They have the DVD on sale this month. (I do not get any thing for posting about this DVD  :O)
Have a great Saturday and hug your child (or children!)
