I've Been Thinking...

I've had a lot of time to think in between study sessions, it dawned on me that now we know how Apostle Paul felt in prison, he wanted to be able to be out ministering and sharing the Gospel with others. The Lord also kept Paul on house arrest for a reason and his ministry flourished. Bloom where you are planted for this growing season.

Stop on by Kit Kat Plus Celiac's blog and see the awesome list of Gluten Free candy options for Halloween! YUMMO!!! Just remember to check labels yourself to make sure that the company has not changed ingredients.

Now of course there is no corn free listing, so you will have to check that out too if you have allergies to corn.

We have been super busy around here, finishing up the TOS Review Crew year, got a couple of really cool reviews to share with you in the coming days! Spent a few days out of town and have some neat things to post about when life slows down.

If you have the time, please pray for our son, he has some interesting irons in the fire and needs covered in prayer. We will have more details to share the week of Nov 5. But until then we would covet your prayers for the Lord's will in his life. And that the Lord would comfort him in whatever His will is.

Love that the trees are turning and the weather is crisp. Almost time for Campfire school! LOVE THAT TIME OF YEAR.

Take care,

Life Busy?

Is your life busy?  September & October are notoriously busy for us. Never fails, every year we have a full calendar on those 2 months. Field trips, apple orchard, pumpkin patch, driving to look at fall leaves changing, Civil War Re-enactments, camp fire school and much more!

I've had a week that feels like it's spinning out of control, lots to do, a full calendar and 4 deaths in a row. One was a TOS Review Crew wife and homeschooling mother of 2 small children. That is all enough to knock you for a loop for sure. But we have to sit back and remember that God is in control, He is still on the throne, even though we may allow ourselves to feel like life is spinning out of control.

At times like this I look to one of my favorite books of the Bible: Philippians. In chapter 4 verse 13, it read "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." That should do it for me, but sometimes I need a bit more encouragement, so I head over to the book of Hebrews chapter 13 verse 6. "So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me."

I think that sometimes that man that the verse is talking about is that man (woman) that planned my calendar page! I need the Lord to protect me from myself and my ease of becoming too busy!

I am a sinner (yes being too busy can be a sin), I am a work in progress and have lots of irons in the fire, as well as being a wife and mother of a homeschooler. As I feel my world spinning, (well it's starting to slow down as I move my eyes back to Jesus and off the calendar) I think of 1 John 5:14 & 15 "and this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, he heareth us: And if we know that He hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him."

So what to make of this blog post? Life Busy? Talk to the Lord MORE!

Thankfulness during the Pantry Challenge?

As I think about being thankful for the surplus I have and how I am able to be wise in using it, the 10 leprous men come to mind that Jesus healed.

Luke 17:12-13 12"And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: 13And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. 14And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. 15And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan."

A couple of key things here, 10 guys with leprosy (some sort of nasty skin disease that is painful) and only 1 guy says "THANK YOU to Jesus for healing him", only 1 guy fell down and gave thanks and praise to Jesus, and that 1 guy was a Samaritan! Which is very key because "Samaritans were hated by the Jews as part of a complex and ancient racial prejudice." In James MacDonalds book Lord, Change My Attitude he says it like this

"The point is, no one has an acceptable excuse for ungratefulness.Everyone can make the choice to give thanks and acknowledge the goodness and the grace of God. Sadly, however, only a small fraction of the human population ever personally thanks God for His grace."

Have you taken time to thank God for His saving grace? For the things that you have in your life? Good things and things that you suffer for? Take time today to thank God and pick up a good read. Lord Change My Attitude Before It's Too Late by James MacDonald with forward by Dr. Erwin Lutzer. Our 11 year old son read this book first and then told me that he thought I should read it. I have been wowed by many things it the book. The most captivating so far is the fact that many of us, including me (gasp!) are living in the 'wilderness' like the Israelites. If you are a Child of God, you have it all (not meaning stuff either) yet you may not realize it and suffer for it.

Get out of the wilderness!

~Fall Break~

We have had a wonderful fall break!! Did some sightseeing and relaxing. Spent a few days at the local Christian radio station helping out with the share-a-thon. Enjoyed visiting with everyone there. Our son had fun talking live on the radio with all the air personalities. He says he wants to be a DJ like his Mother.....LOL. YIKES!!! Not the career of my choice for him!! In the words of my husband "Pray, Pray without ceasing."

As I mention above that quote from my husband, I have been doing some praying and the Lord has been faithful in answering. We have added in water lines to our home construction project and I had been praying about the water heating going out so we could get a new one, as our well water is contaminated, I did not want the new water lines running through the old nasty water heater. But my husband did not see it as much of a problem, so I prayed about it. And the other day my husband came into the bedroom to announce "The water heater is leaking in the basement, I guess we will have to replace it!" LOL.....I laughed out loud and told him I had been praying, he shoots back with "Well you better start praying about how we are going to pay for a new one!"

Fast forward to today, I had been praying about getting an outside water spout for watering our animals and guess what? The contractor/plumber put one in! I grinned really big at my husband and told him I had been praying again!

Have a wonderful week!
