The Ponderings Of Facebook...

This week a friend of mine and I decided to go cold turkey on Facebook. Does that sound weird or what?

The Ponderings Of Facebook...
How can we enjoy something so much that it makes us dread not having it?

The Ponderings Of Facebook...
Do I sit each day and wonder "What does my Lord have for me in His Word the Bible?"

The Ponderings Of Facebook...
Do I eagerly open my Bible throughout the day and wonder what there is being said in it?

When I question things I make sure that I use my Bible to help me clarify my thinking and prick my heart. Read Philipians 4:8. " Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

Is Facebook true?
Is Facebook honest?
Is Facebook just?
Is Facebook pure?
Is Facebook lovely?
Is Facebook of good report?
Is Facebook of any virtue?
Is Facebook of praise?
Is Facebook something we should be thinking upon?

Philipians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

Take some time this week and ponder these things using Philipians 4:8 and come back and share how the Lord has spoken to you.

How to miss a childhood.

I came across this article from a friend that use to attend our church, she has since moved and is a pastors wife. How To Miss A Childhood This was very convicting since I find myself chatting on the phone when I am driving.

Some won't understand the article or the importance of spending time with kids. I know in our homeschool there are certain times that I do not answer the phones. And I will have people tell me that they called while driving by and saw my car was at the house, they just don't get that my child is more important than chatting on the phone, they are more than welcome to leave a message and I will call back after school. It's really sad that people can't see that educating my child is of greater necessity than chatting about the weather.

I've not read anything on that blog besides the "How To Miss A Childhood" article, so I don't know where the author comes from regarding her biblical views, but for me and my house this Bible verse comes to mind.

Matthew 12:36-37 " But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned."

How did that blog post touch you?

Just sharing..........

Where are your priorities? This blog post that is in this link from a fellow blogger over at http://peacecreekontheprairie.com is an interesting thought.

I'm enjoy blogging and getting comments, but I try not to allow it to run my life. The Internet is very easy to get sucked into. Seems like a time waster that Satan allows us to use. Sometimes a good tool and most often a time waster.

Please think on your Internet usage and think about if you need more face time with your kids and less screen time? I know we watch how much screen time our kids get, but what about the screen time that mom and dad get?

I've had some days where I am online a lot, looking for ways to find corn free, gluten free, yet I have a gazillion recipes that I could be using. I think I am going to stop looking for recipes and try using what I have on hand.

What do you think?
