FREEBIE For Homeschooling Guide Your Homeschooler Toward Passionate Learning

FREE Delight Directed Learning Homeschooler ebook Guide Your Homeschooler Toward Passionate Learning by Lee Binz.
This looks pretty good, I just downloaded it and plan to relax with a hot cup of tea this evening and read this Ebook.

From Amazon.com site "Delight Directed Learning" - Homeschoolers understand that a solid high school education involves more than just the standard high school courses. Yes, it is true that mastering science, math, and literature is important for homeschoolers - and vitally important if college lies ahead. But equally important are those subjects that the student is passionate about, subjects that they will study for hours on end, "just for the fun of it."

This delight directed learning is the true "secret sauce" of a great homeschool education. It will help your student stand out in a crowd of college applicants. It can launch a career in business, or industry, or the Arts. It can lead to life-changing internships and real world work experience. It can open doors not just to college, but to life!"

Enjoy!

click here for freebie & a giveaway!

If you have never checked out the products over at TheLearningParent.com you are really missing out. A few of my all time favorites are: The Socialization Trap by Rick Boyer, Proverbs People by Marilyn Boyer and I highly recommend any and all of the MP3's or CD's of either of them speaking. I keep them on hand to listen to when I am having a rough day, they help me to keep homeschooling in perspective and keep me from getting burned out. As you think about your up coming school year, stop over at thelearningparent.com and see what fits your family.

"Hey everybody!!

The Learning Parent is having a giveaway on our new book, Portraits of Integrity this week and we are also giving a free chapter to ALL Facebook "likers". Would you consider telling your Facebook friends about the giveaway and free chapter, please? You can link to this blog post that has all the details:
Thank you so much! We really appreciate it!

- Marilyn

P.S.: Don't forget you can get a free chapter for yourself too even if you've already "liked" The Learning Parent."

FREEBIE!! Homeschool Planner and Organizer

Free homeschool resources Ok, so first off let me say that I impress myself. LOL I was actually able to copy some HTML and figure out how to get it to show up in my blog. Let me say it again "IMPRESSIVE" lol.  Thank you for the round of applauds!! (Cathy in CA I know you are grinning at me, 'cause you know just how computer savy I am ;-) Yes, Val in MI also big grin on your face too. This website has some neat freebies for the homeschooler and even for those that don't home educate. There are some neat calendars, menu planners and grocery lists to print off. You can pick from lined or unlined versions. Pretty cool I think!  Here is the link to The Home School Mom. It also has Flylady compatible pages. Everyone needs a little bit of organization in their lives, we serve an orderly God and rightly so we should follow his ways. Here are two random Bible verse that I have come up with that make me see how God is organized.

Exodus 26:17
"Two tenons shall there be in one board, set in order one against another: thus shalt thou make for all the boards of the tabernacle."
Exodus 39:37
"The pure candlestick, with the lamps thereof, even with the lamps to be set in order, and all the vessels thereof, and the oil for light,"

How much better can we serve when we have our house in order? OK, convicting, going to go and clean off the kitchen table, that seems to be the hustle and bustle of our home and it get in disarray quickly. Flylady would call that a HOT SPOT and mine is a blazin'! Where is your HOT SPOT?

Have a great weekend!

p.s. How is that Pantry Challenge going?

Pantry Challenge Day 9 How is it going?

Just checking in to see how it's going. Remember you can still buy groceries, but do your best to eat from what you have in the house, it's like FREE food!! I'm needing some raisins, but I fear stepping into the grocery store and buying more stuff! lol. If you see a great buy on something, feel free to stock up on it, but also use what you already have too.

My doctor put me on a diuretic this week and I was told to really be watching my salt. So that has made things interesting on the pantry challenge to say the least. So I got some low-salt cookbooks from the library (we love that place!), found a recipe for no salt cream soup (not great, but it was OK). I had ground beef in the freezer, rice in the pantry and celery in the fridge, also had all the ingredients for the 'cream of no sodium soup'. I used coconut milk to make that, it was the unsweetened kind, but it still had an odd sweetness to it (oh well, at least I am using it up in the pantry challenge). I made beef & rice casserole for myself (gluten free) and then I made the guys a regular one using up 2 cans of Campbell's cream soups from the pantry. I also had made some wild rice from the pantry and used that in their recipe.

For desert I made a apple buckle (some call it apple betty) using gluten free flours, apple pie filling and Rice Bran flakes to add some fiber without changing the taste or texture.

Apple Buckle with yummy coconut ice cream to go with it.
Have you been having fun with this? Make it fun, have the kids go into the pantry and make some sort of fun meal. Our meals don't have to look like Julia Childs (loved watching her as a child with my mother). Any creative meals come across your table this past week?

And the winner is...................

Well first I must give you my disclaimer in detail on how the winner was picked  :O)    This is very technical so stick with me on this......lol.

First I painstakingly printed out the name of each person who entered (remember 1 entry per post).

Then I cut them each out and carefully folded them all the same way.

Then placed them in the secret Corelle ballot box bowl.

Then my adorable assistant picked out one name.

DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!

And the winner is.............

Drawing for the winner of the Hodgson Mills giveaway!!

Well, Friday has come and gone! lol......sorry about that. I've been running around to doctor appointments and things slipped through the cracks. So I shall have my son put the names in a bowl and will draw here in a few minutes. 1 name per post, up to 5x  :O)

Be back in a jiffy.
